QUALIFIED LEADERS
Our Alpenguides are knowledgeable, prepared, and have the credentials to prove it. Our staff maintain current Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder, CPR, Epinephrine Auto-injector, and Backcountry Food Handling certifications. Some of our staff are additionally certified as Lifeguards, Leave No Trace instructors, and 200-hour Registered Yoga Teachers.
INSPIRATIONAL ROLE MODELS
Our Alpenguides are college students and graduates from across the country. These young women are leaders, educators, and professionals with a wide range of experience in the outdoors, a love of the wilderness, and a passion for creating safe and fun ways to share it all! The small size of Alpengirl’s adventures allows each camper to connect one-on-one with her leader and blossom in an individually supported way.
RETURNING STAFF
The wisdom and experience of our returning Alpenguides help to build our community each year. Typically our staff return rate is 50% or better. Within our small team of 10-12 experienced leaders, leadership teams are thoughtfully paired to proved a balanced and dynamic summer camp experience for the girls in our care.
COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING
All Alpenguides attend a training on-site at our headquarters in Manhattan, MT. This experiential week includes camping, backpacking, camp cooking, skills demonstrations, yoga practice, practical scenarios in first aid and risk management, and trip planning. Highlights of staff training include events such as the staff talent show and Alpenwear fashion show, a hot springs excursion, canoeing, staff care packages and plenty of high-energy FUN!
COMPENSATION
Alpengirl wages are very competitive and often above industry standard and are commensurate with experience.
INTERNSHIPS
Former Alpengirl campers ages 18-19 who are interested in a summer internship are encouraged to contact us for more information.
