Day 1: Arriving at Seattle-Tacoma Intl airport, your Alpenguides will greet you and introduce you to the rest of your group. As soon as all campers arrive, we'll drive about 2 hours to a state park campground north of Seattle for general camp introductions and games followed by the first of many delicious and fresh "camp gourmet" meals. Camping near Bellingham, WA.
Day 2: Yoga introduction and sea kayaking followed by an evening of fun and games. Camping at same campground. Note: Yoga is an integral part of all Alpengirl camp itineraries and the start to most days.
Day 3-8: Backpacking one-way along the East Bank Trail of Ross Lake in North Cascades National Park, hiking 3 miles the first day and increasing by a few miles each day before attempting the final very challenging day hike up Desolation Peak. We'll complete a total backpacking distance of 18 miles. We complete the trip with a boat taxi back to the trailhead enjoying views of the lake along the way. Alpengirl backpacking trips typically include 4-8 miles of backpacking and/or day hiking each day and route and distance selection is dependent on trail conditions, group camping availability, weather and group interests and abilities.
