Alaska Adventure Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Anchorage airport. Greetings and general camp introductions will occur during dinner. Group will camp at a nearby Organic Farm.

Day 2: Yoga introduction. Note: Yoga is an integral part of camp and the start to every day. Yoga is a consistent component for each day on this itinerary. Group games and introductions continue followed by a service project on the farm and camping.

Day 3: Morning yoga and completion of our service project is followed by a short drive to Matanuska Glacier for midnight rafting on the Matanuska River class IV rapids, from 7p.m. 'til midnight. Camp riverside.

Day 4: A 5-6 hour drive up and over spectacular Roger's Pass for a sight-seeing drive to Valdez. Camping in Valdez at day's end.

Day 5-6: Overnight Sea Kayak: From Valdez take a motorboat taxi to the Shoup Glacier for an 2-day sea kayak adventure around, and up to the glacier, returning to Valdez for camping.

Day 7-8: Ferry ride through Prince William Sound to the Kenai Peninsula. Camping at campground near Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and preparing for our canoe trip.

Day 9-12: Canoe and portage for 4 days through the Swan Lakes canoe system in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, including one day of paddling on the unforgettable Moose River. Camping on islands and riverbanks along the route.

Day 13: Rest and re-supply, prepare for backpacking trip and camp at trailhead campground near Seward, Alaska.

Day 14-17: Backpacking introductions and begin backpacking trip to lake side campsite in the Kenai Mountains on the Kenai Peninsula; backpacking and/or day hiking 4-10 miles each day.

Day 18-19: Exploring Kenai Fjords National Park highlighted by hiking 4 strenuous miles past Exit Glacier to the 800 square-mile Harding ice field, one of the four major icecaps in the U.S., campsite nearby.

Day 20: Souvenir shopping and celebration in Anchorage. Camping at a nearby forest service campground.

Day 21: Departures.
