Last night at the Majestic Montana 2 week adventure camp session, we had an awesome Alpenolympic talent show! There was a tie for “Gold Medal” between Via (she performed rap-style song about each camper and staff at camp) and Maddie + Alana (they performed Phantom of the Opera singing and more). One more day of camp before the girls return home, great memories!

Alpengirls in Hawaii and Montana are backpacking under clear skies and with much Aloha! All is good at camp!

Thank you to Montana Horse Camp and Mini Camp Girls! We had a ton of fun with you - thanks for rocking the road side dance parties, staying on your horses, doing bareback horse skills, and getting FAUM to be the rodeo dancer! See you in 2011!

Alpengirl offers a 3-day overnight horse pack trip into the Centennial Mountains of SW Montana as a part of the Montana Girls Horse Camp session.

Here’s just a few photos that demonstrate preparing for the pack trip - the girls are packing their gear in a “manty”. These are positioned on the mules that pack all our gear for us into the mountains, the girls ride horse behind the mule train into the wild.

“I wish I could go to Alpengirl camp!” ~ Moms

A 5-day summer camp get-away for moms has arrived to Alpengirl. Adventurous moms will be happy campers during our summer camp for grown-ups in Montana! Group size is limited to 6 nature-loving women with a good sense of humor and a desire for outdoor adventure and friendship. Gather around the campfire to share scary tales, sip a glass of fine wine, and toast S’mores! This is not a “Glamping” (Glamour Camping) style trip, each camper is involved in setting up tents, reading maps, preparing meals and starting fires. While we’re together, you can opt in to earn badges in yoga, Dutch oven cooking, wilderness first aid, or Leave No Trace ethics. The finale is hot spring soaking while listening to live bluegrass music followed by an Alpenmom talent show, friendship circle and awards ceremony. This camp session is “challenge by choice” which means you can do as much or as little as you are able or willing, it’s vacation after all. You’ll get dirty, you’ll sleep under the stars, you’ll spend every day outdoors and YOU’LL LOVE IT!

Alpengirl offers teen adventure travel trips in wild North America, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks - USA!

An excellent session for girls age 13-15 who may have been to Yellowstone in their youth but can’t quite remember it now as a teen - or, for girls traveling to the US to experience the wonders we have in North America while making international friendships with other like-minded outdoor adventure girls

Here’s our 18-day Greater Yellowstone Adventure itinerary:

Day 1: Arriving at Bozeman, Montana (MT) airport, your Alpenguides will greet you and introduce you to the rest of your group for general camp introductions and games followed by the first of many delicious and fresh “camp gourmet” meals. Camping at a nearby forest service campground.

Day 2: Yoga introduction, more fun and games, a half-day whitewater rafting adventure, camping at the same place. Note: Yoga is an integral part of all Alpengirl camp itineraries and the start to most days.

Day 3: A full day of rock climbing, rappelling and belaying in Gallatin Canyon near Bozeman, Montana. Camping same as night before.

Day 4-7: Hiking, exploring, learning and camping in Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks including Bear & Wolf Discovery Center and National Museum of Wildlife Art.

Day 8: A half-day whitewater rafting adventure on the Snake River in Jackson Hole, WY. Drive back to Idaho for camping at a forest service campground.

Day 9: Canoeing in Idaho on the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River. Camp same.

Day 10: Horseback riding all day in the Centennial Mountains on the Montana/Idaho border. Camping in the valley at our favorite backcountry campsite among the quaking aspen trees.

Day 11: Rest and preparations before our backpacking trip. Camping at our backpacking trailhead in Montana.

Day 12-15: Enjoying our 4-day backpacking trip to explore high mountain lakes and peaks with grand views of the mountains all around us. Alpengirl backpacking trips typically include 4-8 miles of backpacking and/or day hiking each day and route and distance selection is dependent on trail conditions, weather and group interests and abilities.

Day 16: Cavern tour and hot spring soaking, camping at a nearby state park campground.

Day 17: Our last hooray together! Awards, feasting and other surprises!

Day 18: Departing from Bozeman, MT airport. See you next summer!
