Last night at the Majestic Montana 2 week adventure camp session, we had an awesome Alpenolympic talent show! There was a tie for “Gold Medal” between Via (she performed rap-style song about each camper and staff at camp) and Maddie + Alana (they performed Phantom of the Opera singing and more). One more day of camp before the girls return home, great memories!

All is great in Hawaii 2010 - the girls completed the backpacking trip complete with waterfalls and ocean beaches and are getting showers and laundry and swimming done tomorrow - they are loving it! Maggie and FAUM said the group is getting along really well - more fun coming up and parent calls by staff happens tomorrow. Girls will be calling home on Saturday July 24. Aloha! Alissa

Thank you to Montana Horse Camp and Mini Camp Girls! We had a ton of fun with you - thanks for rocking the road side dance parties, staying on your horses, doing bareback horse skills, and getting FAUM to be the rodeo dancer! See you in 2011!

Airport arrivals and our first group of Montana Photojournalism Campers have arrived!

Celina is packed and ready to arrive in MT for summer camp! Are you wearing in your hiking boots? Trying your backpack on? Reading the camp itinerary and travel information? We can’t wait to see you at Alpengirl this summer!

Alpengirl logo novelties such as bumper stickers, hats, hoodies, t-shirts, patches, Alpengirl recipes, Alpenyoga routine, bags and more will be available for sale to campers during mid-camp on Montana and Washington sessions. Typically we are not able to sell these items in Alaska, Hawaii or Norway due to a restricted number of bags allowed for air travel. There are no pre-ordered items available, all novelties are “first-come, first-served” and re-orders for different sizes and colors are not available. Once these things are gone, they are gone.

I started hiking lower elevation trails in Montana recently and came across some wildflowers - we may be able to spot some of these beauties during camp season in early summer! ~ Alissa

Camp parents and campers sometimes wonder why we include heavy duty garbage bags on our summer camp packing lists. Here’s a few examples of where these really come in handy:
- ground cover
- pack cover
- pack liner
- garbage collection
- dry bag
- rain coat
- signaling device (if it’s orange)
- tarp
- sun shower (fill it with water, warm in the sun all day, then poke holes)
- makes a great prop for a COSTUME!
