Today I read a great article by Jay Griffiths about The Transitional Initiative in the July/August 2009 issue of Orion Magazine (Nature | Culture | Place). The article addresses changing the scale of change – from individual scale to community scale.
I especially love this line:
“We are ineluctably and gloriously social animals. We want fellowship. We flock, we gather, we chirp, we howl, we sing, we call, and we listen.”
The article I read today relates to what I want for Alpengirl Camp – to create a meaningful place for girls to be part of a community where we find fellowship by gathering, chirping, howling, singing, calling and listening.
